About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary link between client vision, design intent, and site execution
- Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination
- Coordinate communication among project teams, clients, vendors, contractors, and consultants
- Lead multidisciplinary consultant teams
- Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions for complex technical and design challenges
- Maintain project manuals and specifications
- Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
- Process submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, and related construction-phase items
- Interface with building and permitting officials during permitting and construction
- Detail commercial construction for buildings and interiors
- Direct and coordinate team assignments
- Manage contracts and negotiate project scope and fees
- Run the design development process and oversee architectural drawing production through all phases
- Support projects through the full lifecycle, including post-occupancy
- Work with local authorities, building departments, and entitlement agencies
- Coordinate consultants and contractors
- Manage construction administration, including project manuals, specifications, and material and shop drawing review
- Collaborate with the general contractor toward successful resolution of issues
- Drive project profitability
- Mentor architects within the studio
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15+ years of relevant experience as a technical project architect
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Licensed or registered architect
- Mandatory experience with Revit and AutoCAD
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3dMax, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office
- Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
- Ability to complete a full set of construction documents
- Understanding of building construction to create accurate, descriptive technical documents
- Ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships
- Effective oral and written communication with confidence and professionalism
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship management skills
- LEED accreditation is a plus
- Unrestricted right to work in the United States
