About the role
- Design, implement, and maintain robust security measures for our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure
- Develop and implement security strategies to protect our GCP environment
- Configure and manage GCP security services and tools to ensure optimal protection
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans of our cloud infrastructure
- Design and implement identity and access management (IAM) policies
- Monitor and analyze security events using SIEM tools
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, performing root cause analysis
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud security trends, threats, and mitigation techniques
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform
- In-depth knowledge of GCP security services, tools, and best practices
- Strong understanding of network security, encryption technologies, and IAM
- Proficiency in security information and event management (SIEM) tools
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Scripting skills in languages such as Python and Bash
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS)
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification (preferred)
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security+) are a plus
- Expertise in cloud security architecture, threat modeling, and risk assessment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed for incident response
