About the role
- Design and develop innovative, cloud-based solutions involving interconnected machine learning (ML) inference and training systems
- Write robust, production-quality code that contributes to the advancement of engineering solutions at Merkle
- Solve intricate engineering problems to enable a team of data scientists to deliver high-quality, production-ready applications
- Automate CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools and frameworks
- Collaborate closely with a diverse team of 10+ data scientists and engineers across various organizational boundaries
- Spearhead the creation of scalable AI innovations in collaboration with foundation and infrastructure partners
- Report to Innovation Lead and this position is remote
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithmic solutions
- Proficiency in programming with Python (5+ years)
- Additional experience in languages such as Java, C/C++ preferred
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API design principles
- Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: machine learning (ML), data mining, information retrieval, search, or statistics
- Ability to diagnose technical issues, debug code, and automate routine tasks
- Experience in building distributed internet-scale systems and machine learning infrastructure
