About the role
- Design and support end-to-end SFMC Engagement architecture for assigned clients
- Translate client requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions
- Conduct platform audits and health checks to uncover risks and optimization opportunities
- Build, review, and refine automations, journeys, segmentation logic, and campaign workflows
- Develop custom solutions using AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, GTL, and API integrations (REST/SOAP)
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for your assigned clients
- Provide proactive recommendations and help clients adopt new features and best practices
- Translate complex technical topics into clear guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to client roadmaps aligned to business goals and digital marketing best practices
- Create and maintain documentation such as solution designs, data flow diagrams, and architecture maps
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects on time
- Troubleshoot platform issues and escalate when needed
- Stay current on SFMC releases and ecosystem updates to improve client solutions
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement
- Proficiency in at least two SFMC languages (AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, GTL)
- Experience working with REST and SOAP APIs
- Strong understanding of SFMC architecture (data extensions, automations, Journey Builder, Contact Builder)
- Two or more Salesforce certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Administrator, Consultant, Developer)
- Experience with SFMC Connector or similar integration patterns
- Background in development or technical architecture
- Experience working in a client-facing or consulting capacity
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a range of stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working through incomplete information
- Ability to capture requirements and document workflows through discovery sessions
- Understanding of digital messaging best practices across email, mobile, push, and related channels
- Familiarity with compliance and deliverability (such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR)
