About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and send draft billings to Project Managers for review and approval
- Create and submit invoices to clients in a timely manner
- Set up and maintain project records, budgets, billing terms, and other project-related information in the accounting system
- Assist with coding and recording consultant invoices to projects
- Generate and distribute monthly Accounts Receivable statements to clients
- Identify billing issues and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Train and support Project Managers on project financial procedures, billing processes, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze month-end consultant budget reports and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports
- Respond to billing inquiries and work with clients and internal project teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Prepare ad hoc reports and complete special projects as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
- Minimum of 3-5 years of project accounting experience, preferably within the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry
- Strong understanding of project-based accounting, including budgeting, revenue recognition, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and project billing
- Exceptional attention to detail and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments and stakeholders
