About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work closely with our Product Manager and tech team to bridge the gap between complex data and clinical decision-making.
  • Refine the deepeye® TPS interface by creating prototypes for new features and solving design challenges to ensure our AI outputs are intuitive and safe for ophthalmologists.
  • Collaborate on ongoing product discovery and usability studies to understand how our software fits into clinical workflows and to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders (Clinical Success, Sales, Product Management, Clinical Affairs, and the CEO) to test designs with real users.
  • Help remove technical bottlenecks by evaluating tools that streamline the handoff from design to frontend.
  • Support general design tasks to maintain a cohesive visual identity across all products.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program (User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field) that requires a mandatory internship (Pflichtpraktikum) as part of the curriculum.
  • Proficiency in UI/UX principles and prototyping.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating clean, user-centric interfaces.
  • Ability to translate complex clinical data into simple, intuitive visualizations.
  • Familiarity with basic user research and testing methods.
  • Working-level English (C1 or higher).
  • German is a plus but not required.
  • Prior experience with medical device software or designing for healthcare professionals is a plus.
  • Interest in "Design-to-Code" automation and technical workflows is a plus.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates your process, from research to high-fidelity prototypes is desirable.
