About the role
- Develop and optimize machine learning algorithms for medical imaging applications to improve the accuracy and efficiency of ophthalmic diagnostics.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including software engineers and clinicians, to integrate AI solutions into existing medical workflows and tools.
- Analyze large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity for training and validating AI models to detect eye-related diseases.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI and medical imaging technologies, applying innovative approaches to enhance product offerings and patient care.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience applying machine learning and deep learning, including knowledge of CNNs, U-Net architectures and standard ML techniques such as cross-validation and regularization.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision and image processing, including 2D/3D image processing, segmentation and spatial normalization.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with common ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioengineering, (Medical) Physics or a similar quantitative field.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams of clinicians, data scientists, data and software engineers.
- Experience analyzing and querying data with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Interest in expanding clinical AI goals into new areas such as diabetic macular edema (DME) or retinal vein occlusion (RVO).
- Good English skills (C1 or higher).
