About the role

  • Apply engineering principles and materials to detail material handling systems
  • Create drawing sets communicating designs to customers, permitting authorities, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Review and apply customer specifications to design
  • Review architectural and other drawings for interferences and clearance requirements
  • Participate in and sometimes lead firm engineering meetings with customers and suppliers
  • Support in-person meetings near the Franklin, TN office and occasionally at customer sites
  • Produce detailed mechanical installation drawings and Bills of Material
  • Create point load drawings when required and verify calculations (horsepower, throughput)
  • Work with vendors to review equipment drawings and specifications
  • Provide technical guidance to meet industry standards and produce installation details/manuals
  • Travel to job sites to verify field conditions and produce/create as-built drawings
  • Maintain and create CAD files and report drawing status to Project Engineer
  • Occasionally design parts or platforms required for material handling systems
  • Work a hybrid schedule averaging three days per week in the Franklin, TN office

Requirements

  • BS in a technical discipline (ME, EE, other engineering/CAD)
  • 4-6 years of experience with projects in the distribution and fulfillment space
  • 4+ years of MHE execution design experience (with a focus on Amazon)
  • Solid knowledge of drafting & design standards
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Flexible and able to transition between several projects
  • Excel in collaborative in-person and remote environments
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team-oriented; prioritizes team success
