About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manages key accounting functions and supports the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting
  • Oversees general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting schedules
  • Leads month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Prepares and reviews monthly financial statements, reports, account analyses, and supporting schedules
  • Provides leadership and oversight of the accounts payable function
  • Oversees employee expense, corporate credit card, and travel-related accounting processes
  • Supports tax and compliance activities as assigned
  • Manages team workflow, assigns responsibilities, reviews work product, and provides coaching
  • Partners cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, IT, and other business stakeholders
  • Takes an active approach to talent management by onboarding, mentoring, and inspiring a diverse team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is required
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred
  • A minimum of four (4) years of progressive accounting experience is required, including experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience leading people or teams is required
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply them accurately and consistently
  • Experience reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analyses, and supporting schedules
  • Experience supporting internal controls, accounting policies, process documentation, and audit requests
  • Strong analytical, accounting, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP or general ledger accounting systems
  • Experience with NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, or similar accounting systems is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours as needed and travel up to 10%, which may include occasional overnight travel
