About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for providing customer service and overall service of assigned customers and/or policies
  • Soliciting of new business on existing accounts
  • Support of Producer-led new business efforts
  • Lead the team to ensure that business goals are met and operations run smoothly
  • Assist department leaders with any required support of the team, such as training
  • Provide full-service for select producers including plan changes and questions from groups
  • Review renewals and provide renewal and template letter to agent/AM
  • Market the group depending on rate increase
  • Foster and manage overall relationship with clients ensuring retention of executive benefits book of business and high satisfaction
  • Handle escalated matters, answering questions, delegating tasks, and overseeing tasks/projects
  • Develop training materials for the Account Managers
  • Train and mentor Account Managers to achieve department objectives
  • Review client team’s illustrations
  • Select markets for solicitation
  • Review coverage contracts for accuracy of policy provisions
  • Meet with clients for pre-renewal strategy, proposal delivery and explanation
  • Conduct client meetings and answer questions regarding benefit coverage
  • Negotiate with markets for benefits premium concessions
  • Ensure client team handles client benefit inquiries and manages team to effectively service clients; resolves escalated service issues
  • Manage new carrier and plan implementations for book of business; ensure team prepares reports and reviews for accuracy
  • Process and follow up on new business
  • Meet with clients as needed or directed by Producer
  • Act as a liaison between local office and corporate departments such as Accounting, IT and Facilities
  • Manage office vendor relationships including vendor account management and procurement
  • Collection of fees, reconciliation, and resolution of any outstanding balances within 60 days of invoicing date
  • Comply with agency management system data standards and data integrity

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven (7) or more years of related work experience
  • Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
  • Encouraged to complete Career Path requirements as communicated by supervisor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
  • Good leadership, problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
  • Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to train and mentor others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
