About the role
- As a Software Developer (m/f/d) in our innovation team, you will shape the future of our emission control systems.
- You will combine classical PLC automation with modern digital technologies, Edge computing, sensor intelligence and Industry 4.0 features.
- You will develop and test software and modeling concepts that improve the CO₂ balance, PFC emissions and operating costs of our systems.
- You will define which data, signals and logic are required in PLC and Edge software.
- You will integrate sensors, including their connection to the PLC.
- You will define and coordinate the required PLC signals and logical changes together with the PLC team.
- You will specify and test Edge computing modules and I4.0 interfaces in laboratory and pilot plants.
- You will design data flows from PLCs and sensors to databases, analytics platforms and dashboards.
- You will plan and support experiments with gas and process sensors.
- You will describe use cases and acceptance criteria and define relevant KPIs and reporting requirements.
- You will act as the primary contact (m/f/d) for our software development, the innovation team and our worldwide subsidiaries by gathering requirements, prioritizing them and communicating results.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification.
- Professional experience with PLC and HMI environments or a strong technical understanding of automation environments.
- Very good knowledge of C#, JavaScript or Python.
- Experience with industrial communication standards such as OPC UA, MQTT, REST.
- Experience with sensor integration, data models and Edge computing architectures.
- Analytical, independent and solution-oriented working style.
- Team player with clear communication skills, including across interfaces.
- Broad technical interest and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
- Good written and spoken German and English (minimum B2 level).
