About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Take responsibility for the APIs & Performance team: 5 backend developers and management of 6 contractors
Structure the team's operations, including backlog management, grooming, Scrum, and prioritization
Advance the team's use of AI by automating workflows, industrializing test generation, and applying AI for monitoring and anomaly detection
Bring production awareness through experience with large-scale migrations or modernization projects
Establish a culture where information naturally flows upward and everyone owns progress on their topics
Collaborate with the VP Core Software on day-to-day operations
Contribute to the long-term technical vision through execution, maintainability, scalability, and monitoring
Challenge the roadmap, identify blind spots, and help senior developers make sound architecture and scalability decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong technical background with the ability to understand backend, API, performance, and migration challenges
6+ years of management experience
Hands-on experience with a large-scale migration or modernization project
Strong AI mindset, with experience implementing an “AI-first” approach within a team of senior developers
Fluent in French and English
Knowledge of distributed architecture and large-scale microservices concerns
Ability to translate product priorities into concrete technical decisions, and vice versa
Experience with high-load APIs or scalability challenges
