About the role

  • Seek innovations, improvements and tools that support the Legal department's activities;
  • Participate in global meetings when requested;
  • Review and/or draft policies, procedures and other documents related to the department's scope;
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory proposals related to labor law and privacy;
  • Monitor and implement measures and projects to ensure compliance with new laws;
  • Manage the activities of the internal team and external counsel;
  • Retain and manage external law firms, ensuring technical quality and strategic alignment;
  • Evaluate performance, control costs and payments, and optimize allocation of matters;
  • Coordinate communications, guidance and trainings with authorities, associations, unions, senior management, suppliers and customers;
  • Manage the portfolio of labor claims, defining litigation strategies in conjunction with external law firms;
  • Monitor case developments, assessing legal, financial and reputational impacts;
  • Ensure proper management of deadlines, court payments and the quality of pleadings;
  • Report periodically to leadership and internal areas on the status of major litigations;
  • Collect documentation, prepare powers-of-attorney for representatives, select witnesses and prepare company representatives for hearings;
  • Monitor legal risks arising from litigation and update provisions and contingent liabilities with the accounting department;
  • Support strategies to reduce litigation and improve internal processes;
  • Manage the litigation management system (Elaw), ensuring consistency and reliability of information;
  • Develop KPIs and management reports on contingencies and the performance of external law firms;
  • Support inspections by the Ministry of Labor, tax audits and internal/external investigations;
  • Negotiate collective agreements with unions and manage the impact of collective bargaining agreements;
  • Provide labor law advisory to internal areas, preparing legal opinions and proposing preventive measures.

Requirements

  • Law degree with active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB);
  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian labor law, case law and procedural practices;
  • In-depth knowledge of the LGPD (Brazilian Data Protection Law) and preferably of international standards such as the GDPR;
  • Ability to draft legal opinions, identify risks and propose preventive measures;
  • Skill in negotiating with unions and interpreting collective bargaining agreements;
  • Experience in hiring, evaluating performance, cost control and ensuring strategic alignment of external counsel;
  • Experience developing metrics and management reports on litigation and law firm performance;
  • Clear communication skills for interacting with senior management, authorities, associations, suppliers and consultants;
  • Advanced English.
