About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in a full-time, dynamic Actuarial Development Program lasting 4 1/2 years minimum
- Complete four rotations across key business areas
- Assess risks and share analysis results with management
- Compile and analyze rate filing data and prepare regulatory filing exhibits
- Analyze claims data and monitor reserve levels
- Support planning, forecasting, and reporting processes
- Develop and recommend pricing and trends for products and services
- Develop creative technical solutions, tools, and models
- Finalize business requirements and specifications for processes, tools, and systems
- Contribute to pricing, reserving, forecasting, data analytics, competitive intelligence, healthcare trend analytics, and business-results tracking
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Anticipated graduation date by June 2027
- Major, minor, or concentration relevant to the position, such as Actuarial Science, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Risk Management, or Statistics
- Passed at least one actuarial exam
- Willingness to relocate to an identified actuarial hub: Hartford, CT; Blue Bell, PA; Atlanta, GA; or Chicago, IL
- Internship or work experience supporting actuarial functions preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience preferred
- Strong written communication skills
- Experience with analytical or coding software such as SAS, Python, Excel, VBA, SQL, or R
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills
- Ability to encourage teamwork and a positive environment
- Resourcefulness and ability to quickly adapt to change
- Work visa sponsorship is not available, including CPT, OPT, and F-1 Visa programs
