About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Follow company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures in production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Provide positive patient experiences through empathy, personalized service, immunization and service offerings, and problem resolution or escalation
- Complete basic inventory activities, including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
- Contribute to a high-performing, growth-oriented team and expand clinical and technical knowledge
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to market stores for shifts
- Comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Support additional health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where legally permitted and properly trained
- For Technician Immunizer duties, prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, monitor and report adverse reactions, collect and document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Perform physical pharmacy duties including lifting, scanning, bagging, reaching, repetitive finger movements, stooping, and handling items
- Perform other tasks as directed by a Supervisor or Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with applicable state Board of Pharmacy requirements and laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification
- If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years old
- If no state minimum educational requirement is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- Must complete required training within the designated timeframe
- Must have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between tasks
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Friendly customer service orientation and ability to respond appropriately to patients
- Ability to use and understand verbal and written communication
- Active listening skills
- Ability to perform pharmacy-related mathematical calculations
- Ability to resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
- Ability to lift, scan, bag, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive finger movements
- Close visual acuity for transcription, computer-terminal work, and inspection of small parts
- Occasionally lift or exert up to 20 lbs; frequently lift or exert up to 10 lbs
- Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
- Preferred: Previous experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings
- Ability to work in the home store and across other market locations as needed
