About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
- Serve as a first point of contact for patients and customers and deliver exceptional experiences
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Provide caring service, solve or escalate patient problems, and support immunizations and other services
- Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
- Expand clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs and travel voluntarily to market stores for shifts as needed
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Deliver additional health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted and appropriately trained
- For Technician Immunizer duties: prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, monitor adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
- If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years old
- If no state minimum education is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
- Must complete the required company training program within the designated timeframe
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to concentrate, pivot quickly between tasks, and confirm prescription and label accuracy
- Customer service, team orientation, active listening, and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to use mathematics for prescription quantities and days’ supply
- Ability to resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, lift, scan, bag, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive finger movements
- Close visual acuity for transcription, computer-terminal use, and inspection of small parts
- Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.; frequently lift up to 10 lbs.
- Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
- Preferred: experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as needed
