About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
- Help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Provide caring, personalized patient service in person and over the phone
- Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone, where permitted
- Solve or escalate patient problems
- Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
- Contribute to a high-performing, safe, inclusive, and engaging team
- Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Deliver additional health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where allowable and trained
- Support vaccine preparation and administration where permissible and qualified
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty
- Monitor and report adverse reactions
- Review and document patient information
- Track and manage vaccine supplies
- Attend regularly and predictably, including nights and weekends
- Perform physical and other tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
- If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years old
- If no state minimum education is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- Must complete required company training within the designated timeframe
- Must satisfy applicable registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to State Board of Pharmacy guidelines
- Must be able to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between tasks
- Ability to provide friendly customer service and respond appropriately to patients
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Active listening skills
- Mathematical reasoning sufficient to calculate tablet quantities, days’ supply, and bottle requirements
- Ability to identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to perform the listed physical demands, including standing, lifting, reaching, repetitive finger movements, stooping, and close visual work
- Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
- Preferred: previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across other market locations as needed
