About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
Assist patients and customers as a first point of contact and provide exceptional service
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
Fulfill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
Create personalized patient experiences and provide compassionate care
Offer immunizations and other health services where permitted and escalate patient problems when needed
Complete basic inventory activities, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
Apply company SOPs, best practices, laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
Support controlled-substance dispensing and recordkeeping, patient privacy, and security requirements
Deliver additional services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where allowed and properly trained
Where permissible, prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, monitor adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs and voluntarily travel to other stores in the market as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years old
If no state minimum education is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
Must complete required training within the designated timeframe
Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between tasks
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Ability to provide friendly customer service and work as part of a team
Ability to understand and respond appropriately to patients’ reactions
Verbal and written communication skills
Active listening skills
Ability to perform prescription-related mathematical calculations
Ability to identify challenging interactions and select appropriate solutions
Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
Ability to lift, scan, bag, reach, stretch, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive finger movements
Close visual acuity for transcription, computer terminal use, and inspection of small parts
Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs and frequently lift up to 10 lbs
Ability to accurately convey and receive detailed oral instructions
Preferred: 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience
Preferred: previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Preferred: ability to work in the home store and across other market locations
