About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Translate complex benefit information, including non-standard plan language, into clear, compliant plan language for self-funded plans
Analyze, draft, edit, and review legal and regulatory plan documentation, including SPDs, plan amendments, SBCs, and restatements
Ensure self-funded health plan and company compliance with federal and state law
Negotiate deadlines when appropriate
Influence changes and enhancements to business processes, policies, and system infrastructure
Deliver high-quality documentation meeting department standards
Correct spelling, grammar, and formatting errors before documents are sent to customers
Participate in department projects as needed
Facilitate onboarding of new hires, P&P and directives, and refresher courses for renewal team members and new hires
Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or required

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5 years of recent and related plan document experience
Extensive plan writing experience supporting self-funded plans
Written and verbal communication, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling skills
Ability to anticipate workload needs and follow through with minimal direction
Effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook
Associate degree or equivalent work experience (high school diploma plus 2 years of relevant experience)
Preferred: Salesforce experience
Preferred: Microsoft Word
Preferred: Fully insured plan experience
