Pharmacy Care Technician

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- assist in accurately reading, interpreting and entering prescriptions into the computer system
- calculate doses and assignment of directions
- accept proper insurance payment in a timely fashion
- route incomplete or unclear prescriptions to the prescriber for clarification
- enter incomplete prescription information once clarification has been obtained
- assist with inbound phone calls
- interact with customers and cross-functional team to answer questions, solve problems, provide education, and maintain our company’s reputation for high-quality service
- include new patient enrollment, verification of insurance coverage and perform benefit investigations and processing of medication orders for both new and existing patients
- require a working knowledge of insurance, health care, reimbursement-related requirements for dispensing, processing of new referrals, and providing customer education
- routine assessment and problem identification with appropriate escalation to a pharmacist
- independent and self-directed performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must live in Texas
- Six months experience in a pharmacy technician role
- Six months work experience with Windows-based applications like Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications
- Six months computer keyboarding skills and aptitude
- Active Valid Pharmacy Technician License and/or Certification as required by the State of TX
- Direct/hardwired internet connection to a modem/router within 7 feet of your computer and a minimum download speed of 25 mbs download and 3 mbs upload
