Pharmacist – Specialty Compounding Pharmacy
CVS HealthPharmacist providing pharmaceutical care services for CVS Health in a remote setting. Responsibilities include medication order evaluations, patient education, and supervision of pharmacy support personnel.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Clinically interprets and evaluates all physician medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, cost effectiveness, accuracy, safety, and completeness
- Initiates, reviews, and updates all required documentation to verify accuracy, communicating clinical and technical information
- Works with product procurement/reimbursement team to provide payor specific formulary products
- Participates in patient evaluation for acceptance, product selection, device selection, and supply management
- Directly supervises pharmacy support personnel in the appropriate compounding, packaging, and labeling of compounded sterile products
- Maintains security of all legend items and accurately maintains all legally required records
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities, educational programs, and departmental/branch meetings
- Assists in training and orientation of new employees as requested by pharmacy manager or designee
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including on-call responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of experience in Clinical Pharmacy
- Computer skills (word processing, database, spreadsheet programs)
- Active Pennsylvania pharmacy license that is in good standing
- Must reside in the State of Pennsylvania
- Read, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
- Write and present information to managers, patients, nurses, and physicians
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
