About the role

  • Set technical direction and standards within an Agile environment,
  • actively participating in sprint ceremonies while guiding architecture and engineering best practices.
  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable, user-focused software,
  • owning architectural decisions, conducting design reviews, and ensuring long-term maintainability.
  • Develop and elevate high-quality codebases across frontend and backend using TDD, code reviews, and hands-on mentoring to raise overall engineering quality.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point, resolving complex issues, unblocking dependencies, and providing clear technical judgment on high-risk initiatives.
  • Drive execution and collaboration by coordinating releases, ensuring production readiness, and partnering cross-functionally with product, design, security, and platform teams to translate business goals into actionable technical plans.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Java development experience (Spring Boot / Spring MVC)
  • 3+ experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, backend systems and experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure and end-to-end DevOps pipelines.
  • 2+ years of experience using Agile concepts such as continuous integration (CI/CD) and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Proven ability to operate independently with strong ownership, and mentor junior engineers effectively.
  • Preferably Healthcare domain experience (e.g., PBM/NCPDP/HIPAA).
  • Experience with AI/generative AI solutions and technologies.
  • Experience with an Application and Performance Monitoring platform.
  • Knowledge of message queues and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka, etc.).
  • Experience with SRE or DevOps practices, including incident management and root-cause analysis.
