About the role
- Accurately and efficiently reading, interpreting, and entering prescriptions into our system.
- Ensure patients receive their correct prescriptions in a timely manner, directing questionable prescriptions to the prescriber for clarification, and entering complete prescription information once clarification is received.
- Meet specified production and quality standards as defined by the management team.
- Offer solutions needed to help enter patient and prescription information into our system, and faxing physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes.
- Perform other pharmacy functions as required to support development and maximize workflow.
- Work in a complex, team-oriented environment while developing and strengthening technical skills and pharmacology knowledge.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician license in compliance with applicable state law where applicant resides: Florida, Idaho, Pennsylvania, and Texas require an active state technician license. Arizona requires an active state technician license AND national certification. Illinois requires an active state technician license AND national certification. State licensing must include "certified" on certificate.
- Minimum of 3 months related pharmacy technician experience.
- Adept at reading and interpreting prescription terminology and medications.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- A secure room free from noise and distractions, with a closing door and ergonomic-friendly work area (i.e., desk, chair).
- Must have your own internet provider that can support the virtual working environment.
- Direct/hardwired internet connection to a modem/router within 10 feet of your computer and a minimum speed of 25 mbps download and 3 mbps upload.
- Data Entry experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
