About the role

  • The Pharmacy Director develops and implements strategic plans for pharmacy services that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • The Pharmacy Director is responsible for managing the pharmacy benefit program offered by the health plan.
  • The Pharmacy Director ensures compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations pertaining to both pharmacy practice laws and Managed Medicaid/PBM regulations.
  • The Pharmacy Director collaborates with pharmacy network providers to ensure contracts are compliant with state regulations.
  • The Pharmacy Director oversees the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy programs aimed at improving patient outcomes and medication safety.
  • The Pharmacy Director establishes and maintains quality assurance programs to ensure the safe and effective use of medications.
  • The Pharmacy Director works closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Actuary team to develop and monitor budgets, analyze financial data.

Requirements

  • Must hold active, unrestricted Ohio pharmacist licensure and reside in the State of Ohio
  • 5+ years’ progressive pharmacist experience in managed care pharmacy
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist licensure
  • Demonstrated understanding of utilization management and formulary administration within the managed care pharmacy environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmacy regulatory environment as it applies to Medicaid plans
