Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) with building design responsibilities for a firm serving clients across the United States to combat the affordable housing crisis by reimagining construction with world-class innovation.
Design and oversee HVAC and plumbing systems, including ductwork, water supply, gas systems, and related calculations; provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
Ensure compliance with codes and quality control throughout the design process; mentor staff and engage with clients to understand design needs.
Support Fort Worth Office by collaborating with sales staff on proposals and leading local design team efforts.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an ABET-accredited university.
Certification: Professional Engineering (PE) license. Candidates with an EIT certification may be considered if they can obtain their PE license within the first six months of employment.
Experience: 4+ years of building design experience, specializing in HVAC or Plumbing.
Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam.
Experience filling the role of project engineer on multiple concurrent projects.
Code Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry codes including the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC), International Building Code (IBC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Mechanical Code (IMC), and ASHRAE Standards.
Preferred Qualifications: Fire Alarm Design; Modular Construction; Team Management; Construction Administration; Energy Efficiency: California Building Energy Efficiency Standards.
