About the role

  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) with building design responsibilities for a firm serving clients across the United States to combat the affordable housing crisis by reimagining construction with world-class innovation.
  • Design and oversee HVAC and plumbing systems, including ductwork, water supply, gas systems, and related calculations; provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
  • Ensure compliance with codes and quality control throughout the design process; mentor staff and engage with clients to understand design needs.
  • Support Fort Worth Office by collaborating with sales staff on proposals and leading local design team efforts.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Certification: Professional Engineering (PE) license. Candidates with an EIT certification may be considered if they can obtain their PE license within the first six months of employment.
  • Experience: 4+ years of building design experience, specializing in HVAC or Plumbing.
  • Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam.
  • Experience filling the role of project engineer on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Code Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry codes including the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC), International Building Code (IBC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Mechanical Code (IMC), and ASHRAE Standards.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Fire Alarm Design; Modular Construction; Team Management; Construction Administration; Energy Efficiency: California Building Energy Efficiency Standards.
