About the role
- Evaluate entire commercial refrigeration systems for condition, capacity, and efficiency
- Survey existing systems and collect pertinent system architecture information
- Perform refrigeration load calculations
- Arrange loads on appropriate compressor suction groups
- Calculate compressor & condenser capacity & select new equipment when needed
- Size all related piping, pressure regulating valves, etc.
- Understand alternate system types and specify when needed
- Generate refrigeration designs in compliance with all applicable codes and specifications
- Assign tasks to team members and provide training when necessary
- Review, approve, and take ownership for design work provided by team members
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in refrigeration design
- Professional Engineer (preferred) or EIT pursuing PE with a license in good standing
- Or an associate degree with minimum 10 years experience in refrigeration design
- Excellent knowledge of discipline specific codes and other building codes
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good leadership skills to educate client
- Proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent time management
- Confident judgement and decision making.
