About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide loan review services and other consulting engagements on credit-related matters
  • Prepare detailed financial analysis, including cash flow models and collateral evaluations, to identify potential credit risks
  • Evaluate whether commercial loan requests adhere to bank policies and procedures
  • Conduct systematic loan reviews of business-related credits
  • Assess credit quality, loan documentation, credit administration, and compliance with established policies
  • Work on credit projects under a manager while autonomously handling certain aspects
  • Support different types of financial institutions across different geographies
  • Lead segments of engagements and develop client and business relationships with key executives
  • Write and present clear, concise reports with meaningful recommendations to clients
  • Continuously learn, collaborate across teams, and use technology and emerging AI capabilities to improve efficiency, insights, and client outcomes
  • Contribute to account strategy and support high-impact work

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years’ experience working in financial institutions or regulatory supervisory institutions
  • Experience in leveraged lending, capital call, subscription loans, venture lending, or Asset-Based Lending (ABL) highly preferred
  • Graduate degree or professional certification a plus (e.g., RMA CRC)
  • Underwriting, lending, or regulatory experience
  • Experience with a variety of loan products and industries
  • Working knowledge of SBA SOP is a plus
  • Understanding of credit processes, including loan origination and underwriting, credit policies, portfolio management, allowance for loan and lease losses, loan review and remediation
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state banking laws related to credit risk
  • Prior experience with risk ratings, risk rating methodology, and allowance methodology would be a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication and comprehension
  • Progressive responsibilities, including supervising and reviewing the work of others
  • Project management, including self-management of simultaneous work-streams and responsibilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, be resourceful, and research and find solutions
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
