About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead client engagements to establish or mature AI governance programs across strategy, policy, controls, operating model, and metrics
- Map AI governance practices to NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001 and translate requirements into controls, workflows, and guardrails
- Plan and execute current-state assessments, model/system reviews, control testing, and readiness audits for AI and generative AI use cases
- Deliver findings and prioritized roadmaps
- Design operating rhythms for intake, approvals, model registries, risk scoring, human-in-the-loop processes, monitoring, and incident management
- Help clients operationalize three-lines responsibilities with measurable KPIs
- Qualify opportunities, shape solutions, statements of work and engagement letters, develop proposals and pricing, and contribute to pipeline reviews
- Build client-ready collateral
- Develop AI Governance methodologies, accelerators, control libraries, templates, and training
- Incorporate standards and regulatory updates into playbooks
- Publish insights, speak at webinars and events, and support marketing campaigns
- Supervise, coach, and develop consultants
- Manage engagement scope, timeline, budget, quality, and economics
- Support recruiting
- Collaborate across Cyber, Risk, Legal/Privacy, Security, Enterprise Risk Management, Model Risk Management, and Audit teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of hands-on AI governance or Responsible AI experience in policy, controls, risk, compliance, or AI/ML assurance
- 5+ years in compliance, risk management, and/or related advisory roles with client-facing delivery and team leadership
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Financial Services industry experience and knowledge of regulatory, risk management, compliance, and governance environments applicable to financial institutions
- Ability to translate regulatory and standards requirements, including NIST AI RMF and EU AI Act, into actionable policies, processes, and controls
- Progressive responsibilities including supervising and reviewing others’ work
- Project management experience, including managing simultaneous workstreams and responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal communication and comprehension
- Networking and relationship management abilities
- Willingness to travel
- Professional services or consulting experience strongly preferred
- AIGP certification or equivalent AI governance, privacy, or risk credential preferred
- Experience with generative AI risk controls and model documentation/testing practices preferred
- Familiarity with GRC, data, and model tooling such as ServiceNow/Archer, Collibra/Alation, model registries, or ML platforms preferred
- Experience coordinating across privacy, security, risk, and engineering functions preferred
- Understanding of the U.S. federal/state AI policy landscape preferred
- Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
