About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate and maintain enterprise virtualization platforms in production, primarily Nutanix AHV environments
Administer Nutanix AOS, AHV, Prism Element and Prism Central
Contribute to VMware environment operations when required
Monitor cluster health, capacity, performance and availability
Troubleshoot virtualization platform issues affecting hosted workloads
Support OS and application teams with virtualization-layer issues
Manage Nutanix storage, networking, replication and resilience mechanisms
Perform capacity monitoring, planning, forecasting and infrastructure optimisation
Execute lifecycle management, upgrades, firmware updates, compatibility checks, patches and maintenance activities
Monitor infrastructure, analyse alerts, events, logs and performance indicators, and investigate incidents
Participate in incident, problem, change, disaster recovery, business continuity, backup and recovery processes
Maintain cluster availability, high availability, fault tolerance and resilience
Operate and troubleshoot storage services and enterprise backup integrations
Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, OS, Network, Storage, Backup and other technical teams
Develop automation and scripts for monitoring, reporting and operational tasks using PowerShell, Ansible, Bash or REST APIs
Apply security and hardening standards, manage access, maintain documentation and support audit and compliance activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization or systems administration, or equivalent hands-on experience
Mandatory hands-on experience with Nutanix AHV in a production, project or operational environment
Good knowledge of Nutanix AOS, AHV and Prism
Experience operating and troubleshooting virtualization infrastructure
Good understanding of virtualization concepts covering compute, storage and networking
Experience with infrastructure monitoring, incident management and troubleshooting
Understanding of patching, upgrades and lifecycle management processes
Knowledge of high availability, backup, replication and disaster recovery concepts
Ability to work effectively with Infrastructure Engineering, OS and other technical teams
Good troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to document technical activities and follow operational procedures
English required
French is an asset
On-call availability may be required according to operational needs
VMware vSphere experience, particularly ESXi and vCenter, is an asset
Nutanix certification such as NCA or NCP is a nice-to-have
Experience with Nutanix LCM, Nutanix Move, replication, Metro Availability, Veeam, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, large-scale or multi-site infrastructure, ITIL, VMware vSphere, Kubernetes or OpenShift is a nice-to-have
