About the role
- Support servicing activities across the loan lifecycle, including post-closing, ongoing servicing, and payoff
- Review and validate payoff figures to ensure compliance with loan documents and internal servicing standards
- Conduct outbound calls to borrowers, lenders, insurance providers, and third parties regarding payoffs, insurance requirements, account status, and servicing inquiries
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for servicing-related questions, ensuring a professional and solutions-oriented borrow experience
- Monitor insurance coverage on serviced loans to ensure compliance with loan terms
- Review lender-placed insurance rates, policies, and billing for accuracy
- Coordinate with insurance vendors and borrowers to resolve coverage gaps and policy discrepancies
- Track LPI costs and collaborate with Accounting to ensure proper posting and reconciliation
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the servicing portfolio and prepare servicing reports related to payoffs, insurance, delinquency indicators, and servicing exceptions
- Partner closely with the Accounting team to reconcile loan balances, payoff transactions, and borrower payments
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance servicing efficiency, accuracy, and borrower satisfaction
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
- 2-5 years of experience in mortgage servicing, collections, or related financial services role preferred
- Demonstrated success in negotiation and relationship management
- Working knowledge of payoff calculations, escrow/insurance practices, and servicing systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with outbound calls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in loan servicing platforms, CRM systems, and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
