About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own cloud financial management for CRC Group's Microsoft Azure estate
- Build and maintain the cost allocation and showback model across Azure enrollments
- Design reporting for technology and business leaders to see consumption, trends, and variance
- Establish methodologies for splitting shared and untaggable costs
- Run continuous optimization campaigns targeting idle resources, over-provisioning, storage tiering, and ingestion sprawl
- Partner with cloud operations and platform engineering on right-sizing, autoscaling, spot workloads, and non-production scheduling
- Manage Reserved Instances and Azure Savings Plans commitment portfolio
- Support EA, SCE, MCA, and Microsoft Unified Support renewals and true-ups
- Produce rolling 12–18 month Azure forecasts and explain material variances
- Own monthly accruals, validate invoices, prepare invoice allocation summaries, route items to Accounts Payable, and reconcile Azure billing data to Workday
- Develop board-ready cost materials, executive tracking, and portfolio dashboards
- Establish FinOps policies, budgets, alerts, Azure Policy enforcement, and anomaly detection
- Chair the recurring cloud cost governance forum
- Own the FinOps Intelligence Platform tooling stack and data pipeline
- Automate analysis and remediation using FOCUS cost exports, Azure Resource Graph, Azure Monitor, Azure Advisor, Databricks, Power BI, Python, PowerShell, KQL, and the Microsoft FinOps Toolkit
- Advance CRC Group along the FinOps Foundation framework and establish education, champions, and cost-estimation standards
- Lead, mentor, and manage FinOps analysts, interns, and offshore partner resources
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud financial management, cloud infrastructure, or technology finance
- At least 3 years hands-on with Azure cost management specifically
- Experience owning an Azure estate of at least $20M in annual spend across multiple enrollments or billing scopes
- Quantifiable, evidenced savings delivered
- Deep working knowledge of Azure commercial constructs, including EA/MCA billing hierarchy, enrollment accounts, MACC consumption commitments, SCE, reservations, savings plans, Azure Hybrid Benefit, marketplace charges, and Azure pricing and billing data model
- Month-end close experience including accruals, invoice validation, journal entry allocation, and reconciliation to an ERP or general ledger
- Ability to develop and implement processes and procedures
- Expert Microsoft Office Suite user, especially Excel financial modeling and PowerPoint
- Strong Power BI skills
- Advanced command of Azure Cost Management + Billing, Azure Advisor, Azure Policy, Azure Resource Graph, and management group/subscription design
- Working proficiency in at least one of SQL, KQL, Python, or PowerShell for billing data analysis and automation
- Experience with Microsoft FinOps Toolkit and Cost Management APIs
- Experience with FOCUS-format billing data and lakehouse-based cost modeling using Azure Databricks or Fabric
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow and Workday for asset, contract, purchase order, and invoice reconciliation
- Familiarity with third-party FinOps platforms, Kubernetes cost allocation, and infrastructure-as-code tooling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and process-development skills
- Preferred: FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional
- Preferred: Microsoft AZ-900, AZ-104, or AZ-305 certification
- Preferred: M&A and divestiture experience, insurance or financial services industry experience, FP&A, cost accounting, technology procurement, and software asset or AI spend management exposure
- English language fluency required
