About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate, assess, and resolve complex or high-exposure Construction Defect claims within authority limits
- Conduct comprehensive coverage analysis and determine liability exposure
- Negotiate settlements within authority limits and organizational objectives
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical expertise to less experienced claims staff
- Collaborate with legal counsel, brokers, and insured clients to ensure proper claim resolution
- Ensure adherence to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Prepare and present reports on claim status, trends, and risk exposure to management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience handling complex Construction Defect claims
- Prior experience managing complex or high-severity claims preferred
- Experience with litigation management and settlement negotiation
- Adjuster license as required by jurisdiction
- Industry certifications such as CPCU or AIC preferred but not mandatory
- Advanced knowledge of insurance policies, coverages, and claims processes
- Proficiency in claims management systems and related technology tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating complex claim scenarios
- Effective negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to influence outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines under pressure
