Underwriting Manager – Casualty
CRC Insurance ServicesUnderwriting Manager responsible for leading team and ensuring profitability of programs at CRC Group. Overseeing client relationships and developing strategic goals for business success.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and ensure the profitability of program.
- Organize and assemble a strong team to assure that the long term goals and success of the program are met and exceeded.
- Implement strategic goals and objectives for Program.
- Provide effective leadership that ensures that the business objectives are met.
- Create an invaluable management structure and control system.
- Exercise appropriate budgetary control.
- Capabilities must include complete underwriting and marketing skills.
- Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.
- Create a strong fundamental base for new and existing employees to ensure future success.
- Provide and promote vivid leadership qualities for employees to model.
- Maintain a clear and consistent form of management for Program stability.
- Supervise a multi-person team and must be able to effectively communicate the clients' needs.
- Promote continuing education for self and associated staff.
- Meet or exceed production goals as assigned by CRC.
- Manage new or enhanced business opportunities for the Program by: recruiting and cultivating new clients and maintaining existing clients.
- Servicing of existing relationships.
- Evaluating product and service marketability in order to meet customers' needs.
- Maintaining current knowledge base of industry trends, target markets and competition.
- Serve as main contact for underwriting and production.
- Develop targeted marketing materials, distribution and messages that align with overall marketing strategy.
- Provide market intelligence and expertise to maximize renewals.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Five years of insurance experience or its equivalent
- Previous insurance marketing or compliance experience
- Previous financial or accounting experience
- Must be able to understand and analyze complex accounting, insurance and regulator relevant information
- Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to develop, foster, and maintain excellent working relationships with agents/brokers, carrier and internal corporate departments
- Maintain travel schedule depending on the needs of clients, Agents, and new business
- Ability to work extended hours when necessary
- Good interpersonal skills are essential and an ability to communicate and influence at all levels
- Clear and consistent leadership of staff
