About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Overseeing and managing daily business operations to ensure efficiency, quality, accuracy, customer service, and cost effectiveness
  • Assisting with the managing of underwriting operations, policy execution
  • Developing, implementing, and improving operational policies and procedures and workflows for the Public Auto Department
  • Managing the Policy Services Department responsible for all policy related functions
  • Ensure internal and external compliance with company policies, carrier underwriting authority, guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain operational quality controls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designation
  • Five years of experience in underwriting and marketing of new accounts
  • Must be licensed in corresponding areas of insurance
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential and an ability to communicate and influence at all levels
  • Clear and consistent leadership of staff
  • Concentrate on the development of a strong and profitable branch office
  • Must be able to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies
  • Ability to understand the client's needs and have knowledge of the risk profiles associated
  • Recognize new trends and developments in the insurance industry and be able to incorporate that into your strategy
  • Abilities must include preparing submissions for markets and securing quotes
  • Ability to develop, foster, and maintain an excellent working relationship with agencies
  • Must possess and maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Maintain travel schedule depending on the needs of clients, Agents, and new business
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary
