Operations/Underwriting Manager – Commercial Auto

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Overseeing and managing daily business operations to ensure efficiency, quality, accuracy, customer service, and cost effectiveness
- Assisting with the managing of underwriting operations, policy execution
- Developing, implementing, and improving operational policies and procedures and workflows for the Public Auto Department
- Managing the Policy Services Department responsible for all policy related functions
- Ensure internal and external compliance with company policies, carrier underwriting authority, guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Maintain operational quality controls
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designation
- Five years of experience in underwriting and marketing of new accounts
- Must be licensed in corresponding areas of insurance
- Good interpersonal skills are essential and an ability to communicate and influence at all levels
- Clear and consistent leadership of staff
- Concentrate on the development of a strong and profitable branch office
- Must be able to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies
- Ability to understand the client's needs and have knowledge of the risk profiles associated
- Recognize new trends and developments in the insurance industry and be able to incorporate that into your strategy
- Abilities must include preparing submissions for markets and securing quotes
- Ability to develop, foster, and maintain an excellent working relationship with agencies
- Must possess and maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry
- Good written and verbal skills
- Maintain travel schedule depending on the needs of clients, Agents, and new business
- Ability to work extended hours when necessary
