About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver solutions helping clients identify payment integrity issues, reduce healthcare process costs, or improve healthcare outcomes
  • Work with Research and Development, Operations, and product management stakeholders to assess the value and risks of machine learning and AI use cases
  • Develop exploratory data analysis approaches to verify hypotheses for AI/ML use cases
  • Document approaches, thinking, and results using standard methods for collaboration
  • Prepare final trained models and validation test sets for QA
  • Work with production operations to deploy models and support performance monitoring
  • Collaborate with other data science teams and support peer projects
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Participate in design sessions to develop and improve Cotiviti’s machine learning platform
  • Provide end-to-end value-based solutions, including data pipelines, model creation, and end-user applications
  • Complete annual performance review/goal-setting responsibilities
  • Complete special projects and other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science/Engineering, Statistics, or Operations Research, covering Advanced Statistics, Machine learning and AI
  • Experience with natural language processing techniques including transformers, fine-tuning LLMs, measuring/benchmarking and deploying LLMs
  • Experience with HuggingFace, Langchain, LLAMA/Mistral, OpenAI, and vector databases
  • 3+ years of hands-on data science/AI experience
  • Experience with pandas, scikit-learn, keras, nltk, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and GPU
  • Experience building production-grade machine learning deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience working with Apache Spark and large-scale distributed datasets
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as a team
  • Ability to properly handle confidential information
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work within a matrixed organization
  • Proficiency in required skills and competencies
  • Flexibility to work with global teams and geographically dispersed US-based teams
  • High-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance
