About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Secure new sales and vet new approaches in a growing, developed healthcare payer market
  • Manage a sales territory and corresponding quota
  • Implement strategic sales activities and provide regular updates to the Chief Growth Officer and sales management
  • Research and analyze competitive conditions, customer needs, and market trends
  • Recommend strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and align sales plans with marketplace needs
  • Ensure sales activities are cost-effective, efficient, and within budget constraints
  • Monitor competitor pricing and market price sensitivity; create pricing strategies
  • Recommend improvements to sales and service delivery, programs, and procedures
  • Ensure existing customers are serviced according to company standards and policies
  • Develop relationships with customers, trade professionals, and external contacts
  • Coordinate communication with internal departments and teams
  • Attend industry trade shows, professional meetings, and seminars
  • Keep current with industry, market, product, and technology trends
  • Complete annual Performance Plan responsibilities, special projects, and assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Healthcare, Marketing, Business, or related field required
  • 12–15 years’ experience prospecting new business accounts and selling software products in a hunter sales role
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience selling into Health Plans; 7+ years preferred
  • Extensive experience selling to Health Plan C-level executives, SVP Business Owners, procurement, VPs, and directors
  • Proven track record closing Health Plan software system and service sales with contract values from hundreds of thousands to tens of millions
  • Required experience with a leading Health Plan software and service vendor in the Payment Integrity space
  • Specific experience selling Coordination of Benefits and/or Data Mining solutions highly desired
  • Network of Health Plan account contacts at the Executive level
  • Understanding of market penetration, market development, and market segmentation strategies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and perform multiple roles and functions
  • Experience managing sales processes, pursuit teams, and closing processes
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to educate and create a high-performance sales team
  • Strong organizational and quality management skills; ability to handle competing tasks and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Experience with sales CRMs, such as Salesforce or MS Dynamics
  • Excellent command of the selling process and discipline to follow the sequence of events to close business
  • Ability to travel 20–40% of the time
  • Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to research prospective customers and plan prospecting activities
  • Ability to perform daily functions with little or no direct supervision
  • Must provide a dedicated, secure work area
  • Must provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance
