About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply generative AI and machine learning to identify payment integrity issues, reduce healthcare process costs, and improve healthcare outcomes
Assess the potential value and risks of business problems with Research and Development, Operations, and product management stakeholders
Develop exploratory data analysis approaches to verify hypotheses for AI/ML use cases
Document approaches, thinking, and results using standard methods for collaboration
Prepare final trained models and develop validation test sets for QA
Work with production operations to deploy models and support performance monitoring
Collaborate with other data science teams and peers on projects
Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions
Participate in design sessions to develop and improve Cotiviti’s machine learning platform
Deliver end-to-end value-based solutions, including data pipelines, model creation, and applications for end-user consumption
Complete annual performance review/goal-setting responsibilities and assigned special projects
Work with healthcare professionals, analysts, clinicians, coding specialists, auditors, and innovators to deliver business value

Requirements

What you’ll need

PhD or Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science/Engineering, Statistics, or Operations Research, covering Advanced Statistics, Machine Learning, and AI
Experience with natural language processing techniques, including transformers, fine-tuning LLMs, measuring/benchmarking and deploying LLMs
Experience with HuggingFace, Langchain, LLAMA/Mistral, OpenAI, and vector databases
9+ years of hands-on data science/AI experience
Experience with pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, NLTK, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and GPU
Experience building production-grade machine learning deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience with Apache Spark and large-scale distributed datasets
Publication record in journals/conferences and/or history of innovation is good to have
Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical and technical audiences is a plus
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a sense of urgency
Ability to properly handle confidential information
Value-driven approach focused on business impact
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Ability to work within a matrixed organization
Proficiency in all required skills and competencies
Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance
