About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and draft applications and petitions for employment-based immigration cases, including PERM, H-1B, L-1, Blanket L and F visa matters
- Build strong relationships and partner with recruiting and HR on in-house immigration sponsorship assessments
- Advise the business and impacted employees on employment-based immigration matters and visa applications
- Respond to USCIS and DOL requests for additional information
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, regulations, and policies
- Advise and consult with management and leadership on impacts to business practices, operational costs, and efficiencies
- Create policies and procedures for all stages of the immigration process, including internal caseload management
- Analyze cases, determine case strategies, and prepare employees for interviews, hearings, and trials
- Correspond with employees during intake and maintain regular communication regarding active cases
- Track and maintain organized case files using a Case Management Platform
- Complete annual performance-review or goal-setting responsibilities and assigned special projects
- Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor degree
- Current bar membership in good standing for any state in the United States or the District of Columbia
- Minimum of 6 years of immigration law experience, preferably with in-house experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. immigration laws and regulations
- Significant, high-quality experience counseling stakeholders on immigration law matters
- Strong project management skills
- Attention to detail and adherence to strict deadlines
- Ability to work in an organized, disciplined manner
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Technical proficiency in MS Office Suite and Outlook
- Clear, concise, thoughtful, and compelling verbal and written communication
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to interpret complex and evolving immigration laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions
- Ability to assess risk, identify legal trends, and develop strategic legal solutions
- Sound legal judgment under pressure
- Ability to evaluate legal options and generate creative solutions in complex or ambiguous situations
- Accuracy and attention to detail in applications, contracts, petitions, and legal filings
- Discretion and empathy when managing sensitive and confidential issues
