Civil and Structural Engineer
Costain Group PLCCivil & Structural Engineer joining multi-discipline engineering team at Costain. Involved in sustainable design outputs for various sectors including water, rail, and highways.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare preliminary and detailed design analysis, calculations, specifications and related documentation for civil and structural temporary and permanent works
- Communicate designs effectively to the BIM teams
- Challenge and deliver value engineering solutions
- Supervised and mentored by our senior engineers in a friendly teamwork environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum BEng Civil or Structural Engineering
- Additional technically focussed qualifications / training
- Safety passport or similar
- Good general IT skills, MS Office Suite
- Good problem solving, presentation and communications (written and verbal) skills
- Some UK experience in design of foundations, drainage, highways, steel and concrete an advantage
- Have UK engineering experience from previous employers or work placements
- Be able to accurately report progress / risk / opportunities / change etc
- Be digitally proficient in multiple design systems / software
- Be able to lead design meetings, deliver presentations and groups
- Be passionate for sustainable design
- Good organisation, communication, and time management skills
- Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.
