Senior Construction Manager
Costain Group PLCSenior Construction Manager leading construction operations for West Winch Housing Access Road project under Norfolk County Council. Delivering safe, efficient, and quality-focused construction management with a focus on sustainability.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure construction is adequately considered in detailed design
- Provide construction leadership and manage all aspects of construction including investigations/surveys and mobilisation.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with The Costain Way.
- Put safety above all else and lead by example.
- Promote a Safe, Efficient, Right First-Time approach to quality and avoid rework.
- Manage a team of engineering staff and collaborate with other members of the project leadership team.
- Support the Project Director in all construction matters including handover.
- Provide planning and procurement support, implementing product control and all related subcontract activities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or allied subject or equivalent vocational training
- Relevant CSCS Card
- SMSTS or equivalent H&S qualification
- Extensive experience in construction delivery with note worthy time spent in a management position (e.g. Agent/Senior Agent)
- Knowledge and experience of relevant design solutions and standards (Specification for Highways Works), common highways construction techniques and related procedures
- Experience of working within a Principal Designer and Principal Contractor environment (i.e. where Costain undertakes these roles)
- Knowledge and experience of Temporary Works procedures
- Ability to deliver high quality construction and associated documentation to enable handover
