Senior Electrical Designer
Costain Group PLCSenior Electrical Designer responsible for design documentation and supporting lead positions on engineering projects across diverse sectors including Water, Energy, and Transport.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform or support the Lead designer position on one or more Projects
- Industries can range across Water, Transport and Energy including Green Energy, Nuclear and Oil and Gas
- Responsible for preparation of design documentation for individual projects or proposals
- Ensure documentation is prepared efficiently, accurately, and according to project requirements
- Work within the Engineering Services Team
- Act as the primary provider of engineering support through ECI and FEED phases
- Produce design deliverables including diagrams, layouts, and models
- Liaise with other disciplines as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified to City & Guilds or HNC/HND/OND/ONC or equivalent
- EngTech or I-Eng ICE professional qualification (Desirable)
- Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements across industries
- Proficient in CAD
- Experienced in 3D modelling, ideally in AVEVA PDMS – E3D
- Experience in Relux or similar software
- Significant experience as an Electrical Designer on several projects
- Knowledge of UK legislation and standards
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Proven industry experience at all stages of project lifecycle
- Highly motivated
- Good communication skills, confident engaging with colleagues and stakeholders
- Works with safety and risk management at the forefront of their minds
- Multiple industry sector experience (Desirable)
