About the role

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Executive Team, providing insight and recommendations on financial performance, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Lead development of short- and long-term financial plans and strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and growth.
  • Manage a finance team with 4 direct reports in Accounts Payable, Accounting, and Payroll; mentor and develop team members.
  • Oversee financial operations and reporting (monthly forecasting, cashflow) on grants, programs and overhead; ensure expenditures align with grant and program budgets.
  • Oversee management of NICRA and provisional fringe accounting and reconciliations; manage consolidation of subsidiaries Haiti Takes Root and Relief Compass.
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with US GAAP and 2 CFR part 200; advanced knowledge of Sage Intacct; manage monthly and annual close cycles.
  • Coordinate annual audit activities including PBC and schedule preparation and manage relationships with external auditors; oversee donor audits and annual 990 report.
  • Manage treasury functions: monitor cash flow, manage domestic and international banking relationships, oversee endowment and FX exposure, ensure secure disbursement to field offices and partners.
  • Analyze financial data and present reports; assist Sr Budget Manager in annual budgeting and planning; support COO and board committees.

Requirements

  • Must have experience managing non-profit accounting including GIK, donated services, SOA, balance sheet and full grant life cycle.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and 2 CFR part 200 regulations.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to our mission.
  • A proactive, analytical, hands-on strategic thinker.
  • Minimum of a BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA.
  • CPA or CMA or commitment to passing achieving one or the other within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or other ERP platform.
  • Strong demonstrated and advanced excel skills.
  • Strong grasp of non-profit financial analysis.
