About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop detailed budgets, estimates, and proposals across lump sum, unit rate, and cost-plus formats
  • Manage project timelines, schedules, and resource allocation to meet delivery commitments
  • Lead and manage a small team on low to medium complex projects
  • Organize project teams and maintain effective relationships with staff, consultants, and clients
  • Identify risk exposures and resolve complex technical issues
  • Enforce department standards for deliverables, budget tracking, and project documentation
  • Ensure project information flows are maintained and documented
  • Evaluate damaged structures and compile scopes of repair and cost projections
  • Conduct work in alignment with DBI’s values, professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information
  • Perform property-damage site investigations, including in hazardous and physically demanding environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred
  • Minimum five to seven years of experience within construction, restoration, and/or property insurance related fields
  • Ability to travel and build camaraderie with a response team
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the workweek
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, in-person environment
  • Experience working with Xactimate, RS Means, Bluebeam Revu, Primavera, and MS Projects preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to observe issues and suggest innovative solutions
  • Self-directed with ability to be an effective team leader
  • Proven organizational skills and exemplary time management
  • Technically astute with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and feeling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including a ladder
  • Close visual acuity sufficient for reports, computer work, printed documents, detailed inspections, color and depth perception, and related duties
