About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, maintain, and improve a high‑volume transaction processing platform
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and high‑quality COBOL code
Analyze existing modules using AI‑assisted tools
Refactor legacy components while preserving critical business logic
Identify impacted components and design robust solutions
Develop and maintain unit and integration test suites
Contribute to test automation and integration within CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate closely with business analysts and QA teams
Ensure smooth operation of the ABS platform
Support production activities and resolve incidents
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and quarterly planning
Improve system monitoring, performance, and reliability
Maintain documentation and ensure version control best practices.

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 4 years of experience in demanding IT environments
High proficiency in Micro Focus COBOL
Knowledge of legacy system architecture and transaction processing systems
Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Toolchain) and Git version control
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
Understanding of AI-assisted code analysis and refactoring tools
Nice to have: PowerHouse (4GL) and/or Eloquence (Marxmeier)
Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)
Strong knowledge of monitoring and performance optimization tools
Fluent in English and Portuguese (C1 level).
