Write, maintain, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for high-efficiency data retrieval and transformation.
Lead database initiatives with a focus on performance-driven architecture, providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
Mentor junior developers in T-SQL design, query optimization strategies, and performance troubleshooting techniques.
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation covering schema design, T-SQL logic, and performance benchmarks.
Stay current with emerging trends in SQL Server performance tuning, cloud-native database technologies, and T-SQL advancements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in database development and administration with MS SQL Server.
Expert in T-SQL and experience with database design and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of database security best practices and implementation experience.
Proven experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with C# and REST APIs is a strong advantage.
Recent experience leveraging AI as an accelerator, especially via agentic coding assistants.
Familiarity with agile development practices is a plus.
Previous experience in a technical leadership or mentoring role is preferred.
Experience with data modeling techniques such as 3NF and dimensional modeling.
Familiarity with ETL processes involving Databricks, Data Lake, or Data Warehouse architectures is plus.
