About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with the Assistant Controller to execute the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of internal monthly financial statements
- Review and oversee intercompany balances
- Analyze revenue and expense accounts to ensure accuracy and work with the FP&A team and other departments to understand and explain variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts
- Liaise with foreign subsidiaries to complete global analyses and resolve any issues identified
- Assist with external and internal audits and preparation of tax returns by compiling required documentation and preparing various schedules and support
- Help in determining proper internal controls and segregation of duties
- Drive process improvements by identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing solutions, including system automation
- Work with accounting management to administer the company’s travel and expense program
- Research, resolve and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
- Assist in special ad-hoc projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years related experience in accounting or finance; public accounting or public company experience strongly preferred
- CPA or equivalent license preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX requirements
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel applications and formulas
- Basic understanding of accounting systems; NetSuite experience preferred
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced accounting environment with flexibility to take on new duties as needed amidst changing priorities
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent
