About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate closely with the School Leader and Manager of Counseling Services to support at-risk students in grades 9-12.
Assist students and parents in understanding and meeting graduation requirements, course selection, scheduling, and crisis intervention.
Provide direction to staff and support teachers in an alternative learning environment.
Ensure robust systems of accountability are in place for student indicators such as assignment submission, platform activity, and progress toward pacing targets.
Conduct attendance and participation tracking in accordance with state-specific requirements.
Build micro communities within the school to foster belonging and connection.
Conduct individualized student check-ins regularly to assess academic, behavioral, and social progress.
Uphold a structured, supportive environment that encourages student success, retention, and readiness for life after graduation.

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of previous counseling experience at an accredited public or private school; previous leadership roles preferred
South Carolina School Counseling Credential required
Master’s degree in Counseling, Educational Leadership or related fields
Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products)
PowerSchool and/or Edmentum experience preferred
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Must be able to use a personal electronic device for two-step authentication and communication.
