About the role
- Provide virtual services to K-12 students enrolled in Connections Academy virtual schools
- Connect with students using webcams and web conferencing software
- Provide counseling sessions, evaluations, and social work support for students
- Offer individual and group counseling to students dealing with emotional, behavioral, or social issues
- Evaluate students' needs and develop personalized intervention plans
- Respond to and manage crises, such as bullying or family problems
- Work with families to address issues affecting the student’s school experience and connect them with community resources
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies for student success
- Advocate for students’ needs within the school and community
- Provide workshops and training for students, staff, and families on relevant topics
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and interventions
Requirements
- LCSW, LMSW, LICSW, LPC or DOE School Counselor License
- 2+ years' experience in K-12 school setting
- Strong technology skills
- High degree of flexibility and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Preference for those who are licensed in: Michigan, Colorado, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Ohio, Texas, Maine
