About the role
- Lead architecture across VA.gov and downstream systems
- Define engineering standards and integration patterns
- Oversee sprint delivery and production readiness
- Guide AI-assisted development and validation practices
- Coordinate across Product, HCD, and DevSecOps
- Support security, 508, and governance compliance
Requirements
- 10+ years enterprise application development/architecture
- Strong experience with React, APIs, and system integration
- Be well versed with 2-week iterations of agile software delivery
- Must have experience with digital forms(not just API's or UI work)
- Must have experience with Workflow logic(branching, eligibility and submission pipelines)
- Must have hands on experience with systems that pass data to downstream platforms
- AI-Assisted Development Experience
- Experience using Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Claude (or similar tools)
- Proven ability to govern AI-generated outputs, validate code quality, and integrate AI into controlled development workflows
- Use AI to accelerate development, testing, and integration while maintaining compliance and production standards.
