About the role
- Work in the logistics operations of the Export Control Tower for bulk raw sugar, responsible for scheduling loadings at mills by road and rail to transshipment and port terminals.
- Ensure schedules are met, manage inbound and outbound operations, and meet operational efficiency targets.
- Liaise with customers, carriers, mills and terminals to ensure schedules are met on time and with planned efficiency.
- Act ethically and professionally, maintaining a positive organizational climate and good relationships with mills, carriers, terminals and team members.
- Responsible for export operations of bulk raw sugar, from outbound at the mills to delivery at destination port terminals, via road or rail.
- Ensure operational efficiency, reduce costs and avoid additional costs related to road/rail detention or demurrage.
- Manage rail contracts, ensuring execution of contractual volumes and preventing take-or-pay liabilities.
- Manage inventories at transshipment terminals and train queues, ensuring trains arrive at the port on time and have space for unloading, avoiding rail demurrage costs.
- Participate in daily production meetings.
- Operate company systems for production management and scheduling such as SAP and Carga Pontual.
- Handle deviations and incidents in operations and quality, proposing corrective and/or preventive actions to address issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or International Trade.
- Experience with rail transport.
- Postgraduate degree in Logistics or International Trade preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in large-scale logistics operations, distribution networks, and rail transport operations.
- Experience in Control Tower operations or an Integrated Operations Center is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of optimization tools and process simulators is a plus.
